Jewellery Care Policy

  1. Caring for Your Jewellery

At House of Chryselle, we want you to enjoy your jewellery and keep it looking its best for as long as possible.

Jewellery finishes may be affected by exposure to moisture, chemicals, cosmetics, friction and storage conditions. Following the care instructions below may help maintain the appearance of your pieces.

Our jewellery care recommendations do not replace or limit your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

  1. 18K Gold-Plated Modern Jewellery

Our modern jewellery category includes 18K PVD gold-plated pieces.

To help maintain the finish:

  • Remove jewellery before showering, swimming or exercising.
  • Avoid direct contact with perfumes, body sprays, lotions, hairsprays, cleaning products and other chemicals.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to sweat and moisture.
  • Put jewellery on after applying cosmetics and fragrances.
  • Wipe gently with a clean, soft, dry cloth after use.
  • Avoid abrasive cloths, harsh cleaners, polishing compounds and chemical dips.
  • Store each piece separately in a dry place to reduce scratches and friction.
  • Avoid bending, pulling or dropping delicate components.

PVD plating is designed to provide a durable finish, but wear may occur over time depending on use, care and exposure.

Do not assume that a piece is completely waterproof or guaranteed never to tarnish unless the specific product description expressly states a supported claim.

  1. Traditional Indian Ethnic Jewellery

Traditional Indian ethnic jewellery may contain decorative plating, stones, beads, pearls, embellishments or other materials that require additional care.

To help preserve the appearance of these pieces:

  • Keep jewellery away from water, perfume, cosmetics and chemicals.
  • Avoid wearing pieces while bathing, swimming or exercising.
  • Handle stones, beads and decorative elements gently.
  • Do not soak jewellery or use chemical jewellery cleaners unless specifically recommended for that item.
  • Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth where suitable.
  • Store in a dry place, preferably in its original packaging or a separate jewellery pouch.
  • Keep pieces separate to prevent scratching, tangling or damage to embellishments.

Traditional ethnic jewellery is not represented as tarnish-resistant unless a specific product description states otherwise.

Natural wear, fading or changes in appearance may occur with use and exposure. Whether a particular problem qualifies for a remedy under Australian Consumer Law will depend on the product and circumstances.

  1. Clothing and Fabric Accessories

Where jewellery includes fabric, thread, tassels or other delicate decorative elements, keep these components dry and avoid pulling or rubbing them.

Follow any product-specific care instructions supplied with the item.
